No 3G period. I wouldn't use it as a primary source if you travel a lot, but I've used it a few times and for the cost it's great I think I used ~300MB last month. They are running a free 2 GB something this weekend that's worth looking into.
My personal device survived a laundry wash/dry cycle so that is pretty impressive. At most you'll be out like 10 bucks if you "rent" the device and hate the service. Just pay to ship it back and be out very little money...
