1) offline messaging can be difficult because bots like dorrmanbot have been shut down. there might be a way, we'll see what happens.
2)This is already a feature of AIM. It will hopefully be improved
3) Will not happen. Removing yourself was an aim server thing back in the day and was disabled. Adding yourself to someones list is also impossible.
4)Not sure if that's possible
5)Coming soon
6)Mass messaging was suggested and debated for spam reasons. Splitting IMs that are toolong is a great idea and I haven't heard that before
7)It's up to the developers
8)Impossible and if it were possible, it would never be done due to abuse
9)Could be done
2. Chatting while away
- ability to send messages and chat while in away mode
This has been figured out and will be added for older AIM versions in a future build.
3. Buddy list features
- removing your self from peoples buddy list
- adding yourself to someones buddy list
The first one was disabled on the server-side. The second one can't be done because the servers don't allow it.
4. Chatroom feature
- make your self anonomyous when sending invitations to join a chatroom
Interesting. I don't think this could be done unless both clients used middle_man, because I'm pretty sure invitations are IM-based, and you can't send an anonymous IM.
5. Idle
- make yourself idle
- if you make yourself idle, and start chatting, you stay idle
This was in beta2 and will be reincorporated in a future build of beta3.
6. Message sending
- Mass message sending -
Send messages to more then 1 person at the same time

- Message splitting -
Automatically splits messages too long to be sent
I'm down.
8. Blocks
- See who has you on there blocked list
- Remove yourself from somones blocked list
I don't think there's a definitive way to know who has you, ss2miraitrunks, blocked versus the person being offline and/or blocking users that aren't on your buddy list. The second one could be done because one old-timer around the AIM scene figured it out, but if the exploit is used, the AIM admins will most certainly fix the leak.
9. Sounds
- Mute all sounds of AIM
Soo.

EDIT: dammit, Port, you sidler! lol @ Seinfeld
I was sidetracked by Patricia Heaton looking good on tv, then my screensaver turned on and I thought "oh crap...I forgot I was typing".

Port, offline messaging is actually supported in the protocol.
The AIM SDK should have an interface for this shortly.
If doing your own code, its as simple as sending the message anyway, waiting for the server to return a user unavailable error, and then re-sending the message with an extra TLV on the end.
I am proud to say that DoorManBot served many people for quite some time, and also glad to see that AOL has finally added it to the protocol.
My username at MIT is austein, feel free to send mail/zephyrs my way there

It's very possible to do also, because terraim does it when you do a remote request for a directory listing. if there are like 200 files, then it's a problem, but it gets split
