AIM 5.9 and m_m 0.3.0004 I figured out that if I have previously talked to the person I'm trying to IM, there is a tabbed IM window open somewhere (invisible to me) and they are IMing me but I can't see them. And therefore I can't open a new IM window to them since there is apparently one already op...

Unable to open initial IM window
Previously this was an on-again, off-again problem, but recently it has been constant. After I've signed on, I cannot open an IM window to send an IM. I can only receive IMs from other people. I used to be able to open an IM window to myself, then double-click someone else's screenname and a new tab...
