I'm all for spell check; maybe an autocorrect for very common typos (opinoins, teh, ovbiously, many words with apostrophes, etc).

I'm a great speller, but my downfall is typing too fast for my own good (and having never learned to use the left shift key, my right hand is very busy).

It seems that you're right clicking and selecting save as. Just left click the link. If you aren't doing this though, tell us what you're doing when you get dl.php.

dl.php is where the link leads, but that page just initiates the download of the EXE install.

All of your non-logging-related suggestions have already been suggested. The suggestion of appending the log filenames with the day of the week seems a bit too nit picky and minor. There's a nice log viewer you can use instead of using explorer. And for profile logs, the point is so that if someone ...
