Regarding profiles, I discovered something last night on the AIM Developer message boards: profiles are now stored server-side. The newest version of AIM 6 will ignore your client-side profile and simply use your server-side one, but older versions of AIM will overwrite your profile with your client...

If you haven't already made modifications to your installation's "icbmui.ocm" file, you can replace it with the one here to hide the ads for good. Check in AIM's privacy preferences to make sure you are allowing your buddies to see your idle status. Also check your profile, the info window will show your idle time.

I managed to get rid of the bottom drawer buttons entirely, move the open/close arrow to the top of the list, and remove the Info and Chat buttons, leaving IM, Away, and Setup as slim bars at the bottom.
