Another Aim Crash

Post by DiGiTaLshot15 »

Well this one completely screwed up my aim. I renamed my self to "me" then it looked really gay so i renamed it back to my original name and aim crashed, but then when i re-opened it and signed back on the buddy list popped up and when i tried to click someones name to talk to them aim would crash. Any suggestions?

Aim 5.9.6089
Windows XP
SP2
No plug-ins/addons

Hmm, it is a little funky... If I alias myself, then delete the alias, it still stays aliased, but turns the alias into an actual screenname (aim thinks the alias is a screenname)

i think they know about it.

I'm not sure I understand this one, but try this:

1. Delete your alias (completely remove it).
2. Remove yourself from your buddy list.
3. Sign off.
4. Sign back on.
5. Readd yourself to your buddy list.

These steps might not be necessary, but if the problem is what I think it is... this might help.

Harry, it usually works OK if you just delete the alias/your screenname from prefs then sign off and sign on, (if that helps)

But follow, Harry's way, because that will definitely solve it, even if it takes a little longer.
