Switching Between Profiles

Post by lilbubba »

First off, hello! I'm glad to see one of the best AIM addons is finally back. But a feature I've always thought would be neat is if you could save multiple profiles and select which one you'd want to use in your settings.

Part of the reason is because I like to switch between quotes in my profile as well as song lyrics etc, and there's obviously only room for a certain amount. That's why I used to love the random quotes feature I believe that was in Middle_Man (which would be great to see added as well), because it would allow me to have many different quotes in my profile.

Also, doing "back up" saves of your profile before making changes would be good, because when I go to modify mine sometimes i accidently delete too much and save it. This isn't as neccessary because I'll probably just recreate it as a new profile if the other feature was implemented, but still wouldn't be bad to have.

I'm no development expert, but I don't believe it'd be too hard (just saving different html files for each profile, then when one's selected copying that over to the index.html for the profile)

Thanks once again!

it's been awhile, but i'm pretty sure the only time the rate limit would come into affect would be if changed the index.html file while signed on. you would have to sign off, and then back on before the new index.html went into effect.

if you were changing your profile back and forth a bunch while signed on, yeah... rate limit, otherwise i think it's a good idea.
