BETA 2: Still have 100%CPU issue

Post by mtseng »

Hi, I'm currently running AIM 5.2.3292 and the current version of Middle_Man on the website. I'm still getting the 100% CPU issue, and was wondering if I was doing soemthing wrong on my end, or if there was a way to correct it. If not, does anybody know when the next version is going to be release?

Don't know if it will for sure help, but m_m does support newer versions of AIM, just not the latest ones.. try getting 5.5

This is strange. The 100% CPU bug was supposedly fixed in 0.2.0012

And you're positive the cpu usage is from aim.exe? Maybe you're infected with a virus/number-crunching application you don't know about. I was the victim of a number-crunching app I had never heard of, which was silently installed when I unzipped a download file.

If you post a hijackthis log, that might help.

Well, my AIM used to lock up every time I started AIM'ing people constantly, and having multiple conversations at a time. It would lock up, I'd hit ctrl-alt-del. In processes, AIM would be listed at 60%+. I've uninstalled middle_man, and reinstalled just AIM and no crashing yet.

I would post a hijackthis log, but I'm not exactly sure how it works.

Just to do a check, run AIM Fix and let us know if it finds anything, please :) It will save a text document to your desktop.

The download is at the bottom left below the image.

I've had trouble with aim recently going to 100% usage. It seems to be correlated to fast message sending (maybe having to do with rate limiting of some sort?)

The new rate limiting sucks. Even though you have like almost all green bars, they take FOREVER to come back. They used to come back so much faster.
