Harry fix the forum email issue.

Plasma was complaining about it. The irony is he did it in a thread started by a person that can fix it ;)

Should I fix the emails and close registration, or let knew registrations through?

Forums users, speak!

Who would register now?
I'd say leave it open, just to see.

Fix the emails and close registration. Who would register now? Spammers.

Wouldn't be shocked to see 8 spammer accounts for ever 2 legit accounts. And then something like 1 person that would ever post for like ever 20 legit accounts.

Actually good point. Remember when these boards were loaded with spammers?

Do w/e it takes to get rid of the SMTP error and to keep out spammers. Why can't we close registration and at the same time not have the errors? Why is this not possible? Or are the two not related at all and I'm just not following?

How about we make it invite only, and every current member is allowed to send/approve invites. So like, instead of having a mod or admin approve invites, everyone can! And since we're all vets here by a good number of years, we know to be responsible with it. I mean, honestly, I don't for see myself inviting people and I'm sure none of you do either. But at least this way we have the option if we know someone cool who would fit in here.

Wow I feel fucking cool being apart of an exclusive forum. Fucking, cool.

I fixed the SMTP settings. I made user registration Admin-Activated. I'll work on invite only.

I also made the General forums only visible to registered-loggedin users.
