Avatar system is broken

Cannot upload any avatars. After uploading an image that is in accordance with the ridiculous constraints, it pretends to be successful but does not display the image in my profile.
On another note, can we change the avatar size limit to something like 20kb and 80x80 pixels? That would exponentiate my love for you guyz.
